With effect from 1 July 2021, Sandra Jung has taken over the management of PLATH GmbH & Co. KG’s worldwide sales activities. As the new Chief Sales Officer (CSO) for PLATH Systems & Integration, Sandra Jung thus also strengthens the management board of PLATH GmbH & Co. KG.

Sandra Jung has been in charge of the PLATH Group’s sales across Germany since 2018. Prior to that, she held various management positions for large companies. Her main areas of expertise include international business development, strategy and marketing. Ms Jung builds on around 15 years of experience in the industry.

The extensive system portfolio for data-driven crisis prevention of PLATH GmbH & Co. KG offers promising growth prospects worldwide. In her new responsibility, Sandra Jung will, among other things, further expand the international sales network and strengthen collaboration with established partners.

The latest release extends the capabilities of ICAS – enabling more flexibility and control by the user. The focus is on easier operation of the tasks, which allow for more flexible automation as well as an expanded choice of supported sensors. Let’s take a closer look at selected features of ICAS 15.

Inclusion of ICAS Frequency List Management in tasking

The new release enables transferring frequencies and associated information to the area of tasking more quickly and easily. For this purpose, the existing Frequency List Management (FLM) has been integrated into tasking. Among other things, you can now define frequency-specific technical settings, such as the modulation type, centrally in the FLM and reuse them in many tasks. Changes in the FLM are automatically transferred to the tasks. In addition, the creation of tasks has been simplified and made clearer. As a result, you benefit from less administrative effort and achieve more transparency about necessary settings within the automated tasks.

Further sensor integration

With the new release, ICAS supports additional receivers from third-party suppliers, such as the EM200 from Rohde & Schwarz, and thus increases the area of application of ICAS. In addition, Release 15 allows you to use up to 100 Digital Down Converters (DDC) of the PLATH DFP 5130 and DFP 5135 direction finders for narrowband recording, and you can also use these as monitoring receivers. This in turn makes it possible to build systems with high performance for platforms that are limited in size, weight and electrical power. In addition, the dual function of the direction finders is budget-friendly.

Improved interactive use of ICAS

The enhanced capabilities of ICAS optimise the user experience and facilitate your work with the spectrum, location calculations and reports.

• Reports: Users can now specify which signal types should automatically be added to a report. You have more control and can prevent the inclusion of unwanted signal types in reports to avoid unnecessary corrective work.
   
• Location calculations: From now on, you can also manually determine which bearing records should be used to calculate a location. This new level of flexibility enables interactive analysis approaches or performing running fixes (i.e. undertaking location fixes with one direction finder on a moving platform).
   
• Spectrum view and control of narrowband receivers: With ICAS 15, the spectrum view has received a facelift to provide better control and transparency over assigned narrowband channels/DDCs. In addition, you benefit from a clearer screen, easy control of display properties and increased working speed, as less manual input is required for receiver settings.

PLATH Corporation continues its growth strategy and makes a strategic investment in BitRecords GmbH. The Flensburg-based company was founded in 2012 by the two managing directors Paul Hecke and Ivo Risch. The company specialises in the development and production of components and complete systems for automated information processing. This includes, in particular, products for the demodulation of broadband signals in real time. BitRecords GmbH thus complements and expands the product and solution portfolio of the entire PLATH Group with the ability to analyse radio signals in critical situations without any time delay, thereby making decisions even faster.

In the course of the investment, individual companies of the PLATH Group and BitRecords will work closely together and appear jointly on the market.
